I. Inquiry Virus: Fairly harmless to the ordinary person' it only attacks Government files and records. Is known to strike and destroy all incriminating documents pertaining to a department prior to an overall investigation of that department's activities.
2. The Cricket Virus: A deadly virus since this affects a large majority of the Indian population. Is known to bring down efficiency in both the public and private sector dramatically. It also remains active nearly 180 days every year thus taking a heavy toll of normal performance. However, a patch has now been released. That may prove to be an effective remedy. It is called the Match Fix.
3. The Cricket Worm: Mainly afflicts those into gaming and is international in nature with reports of its emergence coming in from England, Australia and South Africa. has been created through multi-million dollar funding, generated by game programmers based primarily in the Indian sub-continent. Differs from the Cricket Virus in the sense that this is lethal and destroys the application it attaches itself to.
4. The NDA Virus: Actually, one large virus that exists along with several other minor viruses. Is known to affect several areas of activity like those related to subsidies, public sector enterprises, etc. Is also suspected of having spawned the Communal Virus.
5. The Communal Virus: This particular strain of the generic Sangh Virus has been in existence for quite some time and after a period of quietus has again become rampant, leaving several systems vulnerable. It is now considered widespread with no known cure in sight.
6. The Pseudo-Secular Virus: Considered the very antithesis of the Communal Virus and was expected to act as an antidote. However, it has become largely ineffective because of its innate tendency to split into bits, with many of those becoming integral to the NDA Virus and others becoming part of the Congress Virus.
7. The Congress Virus: Once extremely powerful, it has become largely dormant, if not defunct, though outbreaks have been known to occur in spurts, though these remain mostly localised.
8. The Left Virus: Has negligible impact with very very limited pockets of influence. Has been made virtually obsolete by upgradation since it only affects older systems. Is gradually mutating into the harmless Left Out Virus.
9. The Kargil Virus: Has ensured that networking between two neighbouring systems cannot be accomplished. Quietly infiltrates from one system into another; and though controlled during the last outbreak, is believed to have the ability to resurrect itself. Could have been eradicated earlier, however, the Lahore Process Fix, considered a suitable fix, has now become defunct with no development work being undertaken.
10. The Sensex Virus: Behaves itself most of the time, but is mostly parasitic in nature and replicates the activities of better known viruses like the NASDAQ or the Nikkei.
