Let me tell you that in my experience at office or anywhere else it is the men who gossip far far more destructively than women. Especially when they have an ego clash with a woman they can be vicious. The first thing that they attack is her character. There is no doubt in their mind who is in the wrong and they don't hesitate an iota to spread false rumours.
